Service Description
Age 16-adult 4 2-hr classes: Wed and Sat. November 12, 15,19, & 22 Student should already be proficient with basic sewing machine use. This class will have homework to complete between classes. The class will focus on reading and using a commercial pattern and will include several common clothing features. Pattern used is McCalls M8442, a multi-size pattern for men or women which fits chest/bust measurements 30"-48". Techniques learned will vary based on student choices and may include buttons and buttonholes, several pocket styles, piping, binding, simple fitting adjustments, and darts. Bring to first class: Fashion fabric: 1 & 5/8 yards woven fabric such as printed cotton, drapery fabric, lightweight denim, or lightweight wool. Lining fabric: 1 & 1/2 yards of a slippery woven fabric. 3 buttons approx 3/4" To purchase fabric for clothing, I recommend a trip to SR Harris fabric stores in either Brooklyn Park or Burnsville. Staff will be able to help you choose appropriate fabrics.
